The National Weather Service continues to predict a high probability of Spring flooding in our area. Homeowners policies  do not cover flood, but separate flood insurance is available  to cover this risk. However, flood insurance must be  purchased at least 30 days prior to any damage to be valid.

A check of the records for Winona's 5 worst high water years shows the Mississippi River has crested at Winona between the dates of April 11th  and April 19th. Obviously, anyone considering flood insurance should make a decision very soon.
