Client Reduces Experience Mod and Saves over $55,000 in Work Comp Premium

This case study involves a large employer in Burnsville, Minnesota. When we began working together, their worker’s compensation experience mod was a 1.61. It was decided that we needed to completely revamp their worker’s compensation policies & procedures internally.


Throughout the process, we discovered the following errors and implemented the following solutions:


·         Completed a re-classification of payroll as employees were misclassified

·         Implemented a Return-to-Work program

·         Streamlined reporting for worker’s compensation claims to make the process more efficient

·         Reduced reserves over the years, which in turned saved thousands in premium dollars


Due to our communication and implementation of these solutions, we were able to immediately find savings for our client.  This resulted in reducing their worker’s compensation experience mod to a .88 and a premium savings of over $55,000.
